I was watching some interviews from the ever fascinating Republican primary a few weeks ago featuring a 9 year old who was asking several candidates about their favorite superhero. Almost everyone's answer was, of course, Superman (except for everyone's favorite bigot, Rick Santorum, who chose Bob Parr of the Incredible because he was a family man). That made me do some digging around on iTunes in order to find the best songs written about The Man of Steel. Although there are some horrible songs written about Superman - Five for Fighting's Superman and Three Doors Down's Kryptonite being the leading offenders - I realized that there are a ton of great songs written about America's favorite superhero.
