There wasn't anything good from 1965 til 1989? You need some Big Star or REM in there. You have enough variety to convince me you aren't "genre-ist", and enough quality to demonstrate you aren't tasteless. But if you really do like the Beatles and the New Pornographers why don't you have anything else even close.
